RESUMO
Cuando se habla de médicos villaclareños no se puede dejar de mencionar al Dr. Rafael Corona Pérez, médico cubano que ha dedicado su vida entera al servicio de la patria y al cumplimiento del principio del internacionalismo y de la medicina socialista. Estas razones lo han ubicado en momentos claves en la lucha por la preservación y defensa de la humanidad. El objetivo de esta investigación fue exponer aspectos importantes de la historia de vida de dicho doctor, como figura destacada de la salud pública cubana, de la cual no se había investigado hasta el momento. Sin dudas, el Dr. Rafael Corona Pérez es una importante personalidad de la medicina revolucionaria en Cuba; su vida debe divulgarse entre las futuras generaciones de profesionales de la salud que se forman en las universidades médicas cubanas
When we refer to doctors from Villa Clara, we can not avoid mentioning Dr. Rafael Corona Pérez, a Cuban doctor who has devoted his whole life to the service of the country and to the fulfillment of the principle of internationalism and socialist medicine. These reasons have placed him at key moments in the struggle for the preservation and defense of humanity. Showing the important aspects of the doctor's life history as a prominent figure of Cuban public health who had not been investigated until now, was the objective of this research. Undoubtedly, Dr. Rafael Corona Pérez is an important personality of revolutionary medicine in Cuba; his life should be disclosed to future generations of health professionals who are trained in Cuban medical universities
